Hypnotic induction is usually a procedure by which a set of attitudes or mental state is induced in a person. In reality, hypnosis includes a sequence of instructions and positive suggestions. Hypnotism can be used for the purpose of treatment and it is called hypnotherapy. Scottish physician by the name of James Braid in the year 1841 created the words hypnosis and hypnotism. Neuro-hypnotism is the expression from which both the terminology are created. There exists a general mistaken belief that hypnosis is a form of unconsciousness which is like sleep. But the fact that it is a wakeful state of focused attention is proved by researches.
